Bayham Old Abbey

A fascinating day out on the Kent and Sussex border.

The impressive abbey ruins were built from golden local sandstone and include much of the 13th to 15th-century church, the chapter house, and a picturesque 14th-century gatehouse. Rooms in the ‘Georgian Gothick’ dower house are also open for visitors to experience.

Opening Times

The site is open to visitors daily April – September. Bayham old Abbey is free to visit, and for opening times, please visit the English Heritage website.
