This year’s Taste of Kent award finalists have now been announced, with Biddenden shortlisted in two categories – ‘Kent Wine of the Year’ and ‘Kent Tastiest Juice’.
The awards are run by Produced in Kent and celebrate the county’s best producers. Based initially on public votes, those who have reached the top 3 in each category will now go through to a judging round before the winners are announced at the awards ceremony held at the Kent Event Centre in March.
Julian Barnes, Managing Director, commented “The Taste of Kent Awards are a highlight in the Kent food & drink calendar and to be shortlisted in two categories is something we are very proud of. We are very grateful for the continued support of our customers and are excited to have the opportunity to defend our title as Kent Tastiest Juice of the Year”.
Biddenden Vineyards produces an award-winning range of wines, ciders & juices and is open to visitors throughout the year with free admission and tastings. Biddenden is Kent’s original commercial vineyard, owned and managed independently by the Barnes family. Visitors are welcome to stroll round the 23 acre vineyard, which is open daily, to see the 11 different grape varieties are grown on gentle south facing slopes.
Tastings of Biddenden’s award-winning, estate grown still and sparkling wines, Kentish ciders, mead and local fruit juices are available in the vineyard shop, which also stocks a selection of local and regional produce.
