7th August to 14th October at Royal Engineers Museum
August 7th – October 14th
Local artist Esther Johnson holds her first ever exhibition from August 2018 at the Royal Engineers Museum!
Featuring original pieces currently featured in Chatham Dockyard, Fort Amherst and our very own Museum gift shops, allowing visitors to get a unique opportunity of seeing the creative process from inspiration to final product.
What inspires me as an Artist?
There is a certain charm when visiting an old factory or building that has been preserved so well that you are taken back in time.
Seeing the same skills that have been passed down through generations still in production is an invaluable tool of education.
Through illustration, it allows the visitor to take home a piece of DNA exclusive to that part of the country and to continue the funding for the restoration and upkeep of these historical places so that it is maintained for future generations.
Esther aims to introduce a fresh colour palette whilst maintaining the iconic character of the subject matter.
