Hornby Hobbies x One:One Collection announce summer open weekend

Join Hornby Hobbies and The One:One Collection for a spectacular weekend of nostalgia, discovery and celebration as the Hornby Hobbies x One:One Collection Open Weekend rolls into Margate on 9–10 August 2025*.

Held in celebration of Railway 200, marking two centuries since the birth of passenger rail, the event offers visitors a unique chance to explore Hornby’s rich railway heritage and get a rare preview of the awe-inspiring One:One Collection of full-size locomotives, large-scale engineered locomotives and amazing O gauge working layout.

With morning and afternoon sessions available, the Open Weekend promises something for the whole family. Explore detailed model railway exhibitions, get hands-on with activities from Hornby Hobbies’ iconic brands – including Airfix, Scalextric, Pocher and Corgi – and soak up the atmosphere with photo opportunities and refreshments (available at additional cost).

What to expect:

  • A preview of the One:One Collection as the museum continues to take shape
  • Access to Hornby Hobbies’ heritage and facilities
  • Entry to The WonderWorks, home to exhibits and interactive fun
  • Model railway layouts and brand exhibits in the former Hornby factory
  • Interactive activities, refreshments (at an additional cost), and much more!

Ticket holders will enjoy entry from 9.30am, with limited parking available on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets are limited, so early booking is recommended.

  • Entry to The One:One Collection Museum is by prior ticket purchase only
  • The museum is a work in progress – the site owners have taken all reasonable steps to make the passage of visitors safe, however visitors should be aware of possible uneven surfaces and other potential hazards.
  • Known hazards are identified and access will be restricted where necessary.
  • Children must be supervised at all times, in particular around the exhibits.
  • Access to certain areas may not be suitable for disabled/ wheelchair users.
  • The exhibits on display are valuable and must not be touched or damaged in any way.
