Kent & East Sussex Railway is regional finalist in Muddy Stilettos Awards for Best Family Experience

The Kent & East Sussex Railway has made it to the regional finals of the 2025 Muddy Stilettos Awards in the Best Family Experiences category.
The much-loved heritage railway, based in Tenterden, is one of five finalists in what is a new category in these coveted awards for independent lifestyle businesses in the UK.

The awards cover 21 lifestyle categories and are run across 35 counties. They are totally free to enter and offer customers/visitors the opportunity to say a massive ‘thank you’ to their favourite local businesses.
Having come through a nomination and initial voting process, the K&ESR is now going head-to-head with four other local attractions to claim the title of Best Family Experience in Kent, with the ultimate winner being decided by a final public vote. Voting is open from now until 15 April via the Muddy Stilettos website:-

“We are delighted and humbled that our visitors have voted us into the regional final for Best Family Experience in Kent,” said K&ESR General Manager Robin Coombes. “The central aim of our wonderful railway team – the many dedicated volunteers operating alongside a small number of paid staff – is to give all our passengers an authentic, fun and memorable day out. It is therefore more than gratifying to feel that we are succeeding in this endeavour, bringing the heritage railway experience to a new generation.”

Regional winners in each category will be announced on 30 April 2025. They will then automatically go through to the prestigious National Finals, when the Muddy Stilettos Editors will judge who is the ‘Best of the Best’ in each category and announce the roll call of National Winners on 25 June 2025.
