New Lynx and Wolf Platform.
We’re thrilled to unveil our state-of-the-art Lynx enclosure at Wildwood Kent!
A major step forward in our mission to restore Britain’s lost species and reconnect people with native wildlife.
This incredible new habitat has been designed not only to give our resident lynx, Flossie and Torridon, a natural, enriching environment; but also to support future breeding and reintroductions projects.
For the first time, our visitors can enjoy our new ‘Lynx to the wild’ elevated viewing platform, offering a unique perspective on two of Britain’s most iconic native species — Eurasian lynx and European wolf.
A huge congratulations to our internal projects team for the incredible work in completeing this build 👏
This, of course, wouldn’t have been possible without local corporate support!
Thank you to Park Farm Construction for donating their time and expertise to the project. Thanks also to Tornado Wire and Wingham Timber for their support, and to Cosano Earth Fund for sponsoring the event.
Mark Habben, Head of Zoo Operations at Wildwood, said:
“Our ambition is to breed lynx in the future, and this facility has been designed with that in mind. But just as importantly, it provides an engaging and educational habitat where visitors can connect with this remarkable species.
“With the new viewing platform, people will be able to experience these animals up close and appreciate their role in healthy ecosystems. We hope this exhibit helps challenge some of the myths surrounding lynx and showcases why they deserve a place in Britain’s wild future.”
