Maidstone Museum is proud to announce the results of this year’s Young Artist of the Year Awards, following a record‑breaking number of submissions from talented young creatives across the region.
Judging took place in February, with an impressive range of artwork showcasing exceptional creativity, skill, and imagination. Head judge and renowned artist Cas Holmes led the panel through an incredibly difficult selection process, reflecting the outstanding standard of entries received this year.
The museum has now revealed its competition winners, each recognised for their originality, technique, and interpretation of the theme. Staff and judges alike expressed their admiration for every young person who took part, noting that the quality of work made the final decisions especially challenging.
The Young Artist of the Year exhibition is now officially open and is completely free to visit. Visitors are invited to explore more than 50 artworks created by emerging young artists and to celebrate the next generation of creative talent. The exhibition will be available throughout the spring at Maidstone Museum.
This year’s awards and exhibition have been made possible thanks to the generous support of The Arts Society Mid Kent, Maidstone Museums’ Friends, and Maidstone Borough Council, whose contributions help champion creativity and cultural engagement for young people across the borough.
Maidstone Museum looks forward to welcoming residents and visitors to enjoy this vibrant celebration of youth art and to experience the remarkable talent on display.
