The Canterbury Tales Launches Appeal for Photographs from the Attraction’s 30 Year History

This year, one of Kent’s favourite visitor attractions, The Canterbury Tales, will celebrate its 30th anniversary. Beginning a year of celebrations, the team have launched an appeal to gather visitor’s photographs from the attraction’s 30 year history.

Lyndsay Ridley, General Manager of The Canterbury Tales said:

“The Canterbury Tales has been a popular attraction in the city for three decades. As we celebrate this major milestone, we are appealing to the many thousands of visitors who have passed through our doors over the years to share any photos they have from their visits. We are asking people to look back through their photo albums and find their favourite photos from their visits to the attraction. We first opened back in 1988 so I’m hoping we’ll get to see some great 80’s and 90’s fashions and haircuts!”

A selection of the best images submitted will be displayed in an online archive on the attraction’s website. The public are encouraged to share their photographs via social media using the hashtag #canterburytales30. Alternatively, scanned photographs can be emailed to info@canterburytales.org.uk. The deadline for submissions is 6th April 2018.

The Canterbury Tales will continue their birthday celebrations throughout the year with a series of family events including storytelling for all ages and a summer party.

The Canterbury Tales is the only attraction in the world dedicated to celebrating the works of Geoffrey Chaucer, the father of English Literature who is widely considered to be the greatest English poet of the Middle Ages. Visitors are invited to join Chaucer and his band of pilgrims as they embark on a journey from The Tabard Inn in London to the shrine of St Thomas Becket in Canterbury Cathedral. The immersive environments have authentic smells.
