Port Lympne Hotel & Reserve’s latest luxury accommodation, Lion Lodge opened in February 2019. A first of its kind worldwide, guests have the incredible opportunity to immerse themselves in the lives of the Reserve’s lions, sleeping within the vicinity of their magnificent, natural enclosure. The Lion Lodges, named Kikuyu and Jibana, are timber clad, Manhattan loft style buildings, set partially within the lions’ natural and spacious habitat. Featuring expansive picture windows in both the master bedroom and the open plan living area, interiors have been expertly designed by The Aspinall Foundation’s Head of Design, Victoria Aspinall. The double height living area features a huge open fire place, concrete flooring with underfloor heating, and a bespoke bar. A show-stopping, 6ft African clay beaded chandelier adds a touch of safari chic, whilst large, industrial Crittall-style doors lead onto a private terrace with breath taking views. Designed to sleep four, the king size master bedroom has prime view of the lions, whilst a comfy mezzanine level, accessible via a spiral staircase, offers an additional two single beds. A large industrial-chic wet room with monsoon shower is complimented with Bamford organic toiletries. Each luxury lodge comes complete with 65inch TV, Wi-Fi, Bose wireless sound system, Nespresso machine and minibar.
Situated in prime position overlooking the 600-acre wildlife reserve with stunning sea views, the lodges also each have their own private garden and dining terrace with firepit. Guests can explore the reserve in their personal golf buggy, spend an afternoon on safari, or simply relax in the privacy of their luxury lodge.
