Sound the Octo-Alert! The Octonauts are Dropping Anchor with a Family-Friendly Activity Trail at The Historic Dockyard Chatham

Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Silvergate Media to bring family-favourite, Octonauts, to The Historic Dockyard Chatham for summer 2022.

From Saturday, May 28 until Sunday, September 4 visitors to Medway’s popular visitor attraction will join Captain Barnacles and the Octonauts on an interactive, activity-based adventure through the tides of maritime history, learning the skills required to join the Octo-Crew.

Families will collect an Octonauts Training Log on arrival, follow the Octo-Map alongside Captain Barnacles to locate Kwazii, Peso, Tweak, Shellington, Dashi and Professor Inkling hidden around the Historic Dockyard and complete fun activities to learn their specialist skills. On completion of the Training Log, they will be named an honorary Octo-Agent and receive a special certificate.

Alongside the activity trail, families will have the opportunity to meet Captain Barnacles and Kwazii as they make special appearances on select dates throughout the summer (character ‘meet and greet’ must be booked online, in advance).

Lynnette Crisp, Director of Communications, Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust, said: “We are incredibly excited to be working with Silvergate Media and Octonauts this summer. There is a natural synergy between our brands, particularly this year when we have a focus on underwater exploration and adventure with our Diving Deep: HMS Invincible 1744 exhibition and HM Submarine Ocelot’s 60th birthday. We can’t wait for families to create their own Octonauts adventure within The Historic Dockyard Chatham and meet their favourite characters from the show. It’s the ultimate summer experience for any Octonauts fan.”

“We are thrilled that The Octonauts will be boarding Chatham’s Historic Dockyard this summer to give children the opportunity to learn all about their favourite aquatic characters,” said Lisa Macdonald, SVP Content and Consumer Product Sales at Silvergate Media. “Making education fun and engaging is a core brand value of Octonauts so we’re delighted this partnership will allow families to discover the wonders of the underwater world in a historic and inspiring marine environment.”

The Octonauts Octo-Cadet Training Academy is free as part of a Historic Dockyard ticket. Tickets are valid for 12 months from the date of the first visit. Book tickets online via thedockyard.co.uk to SAVE a few pounds.
