Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway is wild about wood whittling.

Spending time outdoors and increase your sense of wellbeing, connect with nature and increase your sustainable skills.

Travel from Hythe Station (CT21 6LD) to Dungeness behind one or world-famous steam locomotives. On the return journey from Dungeness we’ll stop at Romney Warren Halt – home of Kent Wildlife Trust’s Romney Marsh Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve.

Once at Romney Marsh Visitor Centre and Nature Reserve you’ll be met by our in-house wood whittler who will guide you through a safety briefing before giving you access to wood whittling tools and the wood for your creation. This wood whittling taster experience is the perfect introduction to wood whittling tools and their usage allowing you to explore your creativity.

Satisfy your creativity by making an item including clothes pegs, coat hooks or rustic mushrooms. After the 2 hour wood whittling experience step aboard the train for the 30 minute return journey back to Hythe Station.

Dates available: 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th May.

Spaces are limited to just 8 people per taster experience.
