Great value Family event returns 27th & 28th August 2022
Brogdale Cider Trails takes place on the 27th & 28th August this year. Brogdale rolls up the barn doors to local producers of Artisan and specialist cider. Barrels of scrumptious cider and Perry only available in selected outlets will be racked and ready for visitors to sample.
Entertainment will include 3 stages of live music, sea shanties, Morris Dancers, apple juicing, and of course cider making demonstrations. A free shuttle bus will be running from Faversham mainline train station to Brogdale throughout the weekend, allowing visitors easy access from public transport routes.
A great value day out, just over an hour from London to the heart of the Kent countryside.
Visitors can support small local producers and taste the finest ciders made in and around Kent including Kentish Pip, Turners, Kent Cider Company, Biddenden’s and Wise Owl. Along with Tiddly Pomme who are resident artisan cider producers, offering our very own apples from The National Fruit Collection, in their Woolly Pig. The Cider Barn will offer over 50 ciders to enjoy during the weekend. With cider sampling and tasting available all day. Ciders will range from lighter sparkling to fiery ginger flavours to classics made with traditional Cox and Bramley.
Visitors can follow the Cider Trail to find each of the producers for sampling and scoring. The people’s favourite will determine a ‘Cider or Perry Best in Show’. Visitors taking part will be entered into a draw to win their own hamper of ciders.
Popular local bands on 3 outdoor stages will perform throughout the weekend with headline acts including Hullabaloo and The Chillbillies. Jumbo Gumbo will have visitors swinging their pants on the Festival Field.
Family entertainment will include tours of the National Fruit Collection, Miniature Railway rides, campfire cooking and fair games.
Operations Manager, Sara Smile said “this is proving to be such a challenging year for so many members of the community it is important to us that we are able to offer great value family days out for locals.”
Stalls offering hot food to soak up the cider will include local game burgers, wood fired pizzas, raclette and hotdogs. Other stalls will offer freshly ground coffee, milkshakes and for non-cider drinkers, The Thirsty Farrier will be mixing summer cocktails to sip and savor. Local craft stalls will offer a range of Kentish produce.
Little ones can craft willow wands in the kids tent, follow the fairy trail or have a go at pressing apple juice from Brogdale Heritage Apples.
Brogdale has unlimited free parking, a picnic area, disabled toilets and a market place of small shops, garden centre and micro-brewery.
