The Roman has Reopened

Canterbury Roman Museum reopened its doors on Saturday 1st August and we can’t wait to welcome you all back!

We have a few updates for you, including our reopening details, a 50% off discount and our brand new interactive game.

The museum will be reopening on 1st August with a new one-way system around the building. Visits will also be split into hour-long sessions to manage capacity. Booking in advance is recommended at canterburyromanmuseum.co.uk but you can also book on arrival for the next available session, subject to availability. Capacity will be limited to 12 visitors per session.

Facilities including the customer toilets, gift shop and lift will all be available. The explorer trail will also be open, but some activities, such as the Roman dressing up and the children’s hands-on area, will be closed in line with Covid-19 guidelines.

Still have questions about our reopening? Read our Visitor FAQs where you’ll find answers to our frequently asked questions.

A brand new game has been added to our interactive BEAM! projector. Roman Canterbury is being invaded and you need to escape the City! You’ll have to smash the pots and bottles to recover your treasure and flee to safety. Or become an archaeologist and uncover your own Roman mosaic by sweeping away the rubble.

We are offering visitors to the Canterbury Roman Museum 50% off admission* for visits between 1st and 31st August. Use code ROMAN50 when you pre-book your visit online or, alternatively, you can book in person at the museum.
