The Wing at Battle of Britain Memorial – Now Open

The Trust is delighted to announce that The Wing is now fully Covid-19 prepared and is now easing back to full opening

We are committed to making sure our staff, volunteers and visitors are safe and so while we are keen to see you all again, we are taking a phased approach to this exciting event.

The Wing, including The Scramble Experience and the cafe, and the car park will open initially from Friday to Monday and opening began on 17th July. We will then look closely at how the new measures are working, assess visitor numbers and adjust the opening times and days accordingly. Visitors are required to wear face coverings when inside The Wing

“We are very keen to get back to as close to normal as possible under the circumstances, but we are also determined to do so safely,” explained Trust Chairman Richard Hunting CBE. “We have taken every possible precaution and we look forward to seeing old friends and welcoming new visitors over the coming weeks.”

The car park and Wing will initially be open from 10am to 5pm from Friday to Monday.

The Battle of Britain Memorial stands on Kent’s famous White Cliffs at Capel-le-Ferne, near Folkestone, a tribute to the men who fought and won one of the most crucial battles of the 20th century.

Alongside the National Memorial to the Few, the site features the Christopher Foxley-Norris Memorial wall, a replica Spitfire and Hurricane and the exciting, interactive and informative Scramble Experience, which has plenty to offer the whole family.
