Biddenden Vineyards has been awarded a Silver and two Bronze Medals at The Decanter World Wine Awards 2022 for Biddenden Pinot Reserve 2018, Biddenden Ortega 2021 & Biddenden Schönburger 2021.

Now in its 19th year, Decanter World Wine Awards is the world’s largest and most influential wine competition, judged by top experts from around the globe.

Judges’ comments on each wine were as follows:

Silver – Pinot Reserve 2018: Concentrated and complex with savoury red fruits, lemon zest and grapefruit and creamy lemon tart. On the palate, yeasty development and freshly baked bread. Well balanced with a long finish.

Bronze – Ortega 2021: Delicious, honest, easy drinking wine that belies its true complexity. Elegant nose, comprising lemon, banana, mangoes and peaches, pea shoots and nettles. The acidity is balanced by a touch of residual sugar. Lovely.

Bronze – Schönburger 2021: This pink skinned Muscat cross provides a pretty Turkish Delight aromatic on the nose as well as orange blossom. On the palate, peaches, exotic fruit and and some sweetness, along with the lower level of acidity associated with this grape.
