Louise Hudspith, Head of Gardens & Landscapes, Neil McCollum, Operations Director South and East, Kate McMullen, Head of Brand & Marketing:
‘We’re delighted to share that Walmer Castle will join the Royal Horticultural Society’s (RHS) Partner Garden scheme in 2026.
The scheme recognises gardens that have exceptionally high standards of horticulture – there are only 230 such gardens in the UK and overseas – so this is a fantastic achievement for the gardening team at Walmer Castle.
Working with the RHS gives opportunities to highlight Walmer and the site event programme directly to RHS members through their RHS handbook, magazine, emails and newsletters, and more widely to those who follow RHS social media channels and visit RHS gardens and shows. RHS members will enjoy free entry to Walmer Castle at on certain days of the week, and it’s a great way to introduce RHS members to English Heritage and our garden sites.
Congratulations and thank you to the team at Walmer for rising to the challenge and passing the rigorous assessment to be an RHS Partner Garden. We hope more of the gardens in our care can be recognised in this way in the future.’
