The Chatham Historic Dockyard Trust is thrilled to announce that The Historic Dockyard Chatham has been honoured with the prestigious Gold Award from VisitEngland in its annual Attraction Accolades, recognising the exceptional quality of its visitor experience.
VisitEngland, the national tourism body promoting England as a world-class travel destination, created these awards to celebrate excellence across the visitor attraction sector. They highlight the standout businesses within the VisitEngland Visitor Attraction Quality Scheme (VAQAS) that go above and beyond to deliver unforgettable experiences.
This year, The Historic Dockyard Chatham achieved an outstanding 95% score in its VAQAS assessment—the highest score awarded since the scheme’s inception. This remarkable rating has earned the Dockyard its fifth Gold Award, a testament to its continued dedication to delivering an unparalleled visitor experience. The Historic Dockyard Chatham is the only attraction in Kent to receive this coveted accolade.
The Gold Award, presented at a ceremony at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire, not only highlights the Dockyard’s commitment to excellence but also reaffirms its position as a must-visit destination in Kent and the South East.
