11th February to 28th February at Hever Castle and Gardens
Garden enthusiasts are invited to welcome the new season at Hever Castle, where the grounds reopen on 11 February 2026 with a celebration of early spring. The event showcases the beauty of nature as thousands of snowdrops, crocuses and other early bulbs start to emerge across the estate.
A self-guided route leads visitors through key horticultural highlights, including the Outer Moat, Sunday Walk and Church Gill, where thoughtful planting schemes emphasise texture, colour and form at a time of year when gardens are at their most revealing.
The recently redesigned Winter Garden is a standout feature, designed to demonstrate how winter-interest planting can extend garden appeal well beyond the main growing season.
Felix Green, the gardener responsible for the Winter Garden, will lead the short talks on 16, 17, 18, 23, 24 and 25 February, taking in the speciality snowdrops along with the colour and scents of early spring.
For those seeking a longer horticultural walk, the 38-acre Lake offers mature woodland and established plantings.
Head Gardener Neil Miller said: “Visitors can find much to enjoy, from the appearances of early flowers to wonderful scents. The snowdrop, as a flower, may be small, but it is beautiful. Crocuses add lovely colour in February, while in the Winter Garden the scented shrubs and bold displays bring real cheer.”
