The Wing at The Battle of Britain Memorial is Reopening

We are absolutely thrilled to be re-opening The Wing at the Memorial from this Friday (17 July) but we know that we have a huge responsibility to keep our visitors, staff and volunteers safe.

While we are delighted that The Government has eased lockdown measures, we know that coronavirus remains a threat, and so we have followed all the guidelines – including sticking to 2m social distancing wherever possible.

The outside features of the site have remained open throughout the pandemic, as the site is in the open air, high on Kent’s famous White Cliffs overlooking the Channel, and we have done all we can to make our inside attractions, including The Scramble Experience, equally safe.

To see exactly what safety precautions we have brought in and find out how your visit will be managed, take a look at this video.

UPDATE: In line with the latest guidance from the Government, we hope visitors will consider wearing a face covering inside The Wing except while they are eating or drinking in the café. In line with our determination to keep The Wing as safe as possible for everyone, we will be asking visitors to do so from this Friday (17 July) and will await further government guidance as the situation changes.

PLEASE NOTE that the car park and The Wing will initially be open from Friday through to Monday each weekend, beginning on 17 July. We will then assess the situation with a view to opening during the week once staff and visitor numbers make that practical. Normal summer opening hours (10am to 5pm) will apply.
