12th September to 13th September at Kent Life
Enjoy live music, pick our hops by hand, see Britain’s last working coalfired Oast House in operation and try up to 50 varieties of beer and cider! The festival began over 30 years ago as a celebration of the humble hop – something that we are still keen to honour today.
Have a go at picking the hops by hand, fill the bushels, and enjoy the pleasant aroma as Britain’s last working, coal-fired Oast House is brought back into life for one weekend only. Take a peek round the Hoppers Huts, where previous generations would have enjoyed their summer holidays. You can meet historical characters from Kent’s past before donning your hop crown to enjoy traditional entertainment with the Pearly Kings and Queens.
Visit the Kentish Ales marquee to sample up to 50 varieties of locally brewed ales and ciders, or take a trip to the gin bar – showcasing around 15 local tipples. There will be plenty of live music to enjoy from both established Kent acts, alongside some bright upcoming stars too. All of Kent Life’s usual family entertainment will also be available, making it a great day out for the whole family.
