29th December at Canterbury Cathedral
A powerful and atmospheric candlelit service during which we will retrace the the steps of St Thomas Becket on his last day of earthly life (850 years ago on this day) and commemorate the significance of pilgrimage to his shrine following his death.
The service will include a procession to the Martyrdom and Crypt.
All are welcome.
This event is part of our 2020 commemorations, marking the dual anniversaries of Becket’s murder 850 years ago and the translation of his body from a tomb in the Crypt to a magnificent shrine in the Trinity Chapel 800 years ago.
Free to attend 15:15 – 16:30
