Scream and Scream Again

The Golden age of British Horror – Original International Movie Posters

The 1950s – 1970s saw a dramatic change in British horror. Referred to as horror’s golden age, the period saw actors such as Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing become household names, while the British horror film studios became a major influence worldwide.

From the early gothic style to the infiltration of pop culture in the 1970s, the exhibition takes a look at films from this period and how they were marketed through a collection of rare original lobby cards and posters from around the world.

A selection of the Museum’s own weird and macabre objects will also be on display.

A touring exhibition curated by Abertoir and Aberystwyth Arts Centre.
