The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight has announced that is planning a commemorative flypast over the National Memorial to the Few at Capel-le-Ferne, near Folkestone in Kent this coming Friday, 19th September starting at 11am.
The historic flight had planned to mark Battle of Britain Day with a flypast on Monday (15 September), but the strong winds made it impossible.
Instead it is planning to mark the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain by making a number of passes of the clifftop tribute to the Few on Friday (19 September), with two Spitfires and a Hurricane of the Memorial Flight joined by a twin-seater from Goodwood and a Hispano Buchon, a Spanish Air Force version of the Messerschmitt Bf109 powered by a Rolls Royce Merlin engine.
(Please note all flypasts are subject to weather and serviceability).
