This October half-term, families are invited to see the Powell-Cotton Museum in a whole new light with Nocturnal Adventures, a fascinating half-term experience that reveals the museum’s world-famous animal dioramas through the eyes of nocturnal wildlife.

Using specially designed lighting that creates a day-to-night cycle around the galleries, visitors can discover which animals are active after dark and which thrive during daylight hours. From familiar British species such as hedgehogs and badgers to the magnificent Asian tiger, Nocturnal Adventures offers a unique way to explore one of Kent’s most celebrated natural history collections.

The Powell-Cotton Museum is home to some of the largest intact habitat dioramas in the world, immersing visitors in carefully recreated environments and bringing wildlife from across Africa, Asia  and Europe to life. Alongside the dioramas, families can explore fascinating cultural collections from Africa, Asia and Oceania, discover hands-on activities and take part in a range of family-friendly experiences.

Younger visitors can enjoy activity trails, Backpack Buddies and the museum’s interactive handling collection, making it an ideal half-term day out for curious minds and budding explorers.

Nocturnal Adventures runs from 23 October to 1 November, 11am to 4pm, with all activities included in standard admission.
