The Powell Cotton Museum, Quex House and Gardens

The Powell-Cotton Museum offers an exciting, fun and interactive day out for all. Join us on a safari and discover awesome animals in our natural history galleries. Journey through time and across cultures with our amazing collection of art and archaeology. Get your hands on in The Cube where you can handle over 400 objects.

Throughout the year we offer an exciting programme of events and activities. With temporary exhibitions as well there is always something new to see and do.

If you want a gentler pace, then join a free tour to explore the country home of the adventurous Powell-Cotton family for over 200 years. Its relaxed atmosphere and character are immediately appreciated when you step through the front door into the hall. Quex House displays fascinating furniture, decorative objects, a beautiful library and the famous ‘oriental room’. No country house would be complete without extensive gardens and Quex House is no exception. There are seven acres of beautiful, informal gardens available for you to explore, including lawns, herbaceous borders, exotic trees, a woodland walk, and a historic walled garden.
