As darkness falls and the last daytime visitors leave, Hever Castle once again invites brave souls to experience its popular Haunted Hever Castle Tours, returning on 29th, 30th and 31st October 2026.
When the gates are locked and silence settles across the castle grounds, another story begins. These centuries-old doors are closed for good reason – not to keep people out, but to keep the ghosts within.
This Halloween, dare to step inside if you have the courage. Just remember…not every spirit is willing to let you leave.
This exclusive ticketed evening experience offers a unique way to experience Hever Castle after dark. Blending live theatre with light-hearted storytelling, the immersive tour takes guests on a 50-minute theatrical journey, where mysterious characters, ghostly encounters and unsettling tales blur the line between history and imagination.
As guests make their way through the castle after dark, they will encounter a cast of playful and mysterious characters and hear stories brought to life within Hever’s historic rooms. Among those waiting in the shadows is the sorrowful Thomas Boleyn, father of Anne Boleyn, alongside the elusive Grey Lady and other unexpected figures inspired by Hever’s history and folklore.
The evening begins in the Moat Café with a complimentary glass of Prosecco, or a soft drink alternative, before your guide leads you into the castle as darkness descends.
Perfect for couples looking for a memorable Halloween night out, groups of friends, Annual Members seeking exclusive after-hours access, and fans of immersive theatre, the tours are recommended for ages 14 and over.
Tours must be pre-booked and depart hourly from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Guests should arrive 30 minutes before their allocated tour time.
Tickets are £42.50 per person (plus booking fee) and include a welcome drink. With group sizes limited to just 20 guests per tour, early booking is strongly recommended.
Please note that the experience includes a short outdoor section and steep stairs, so suitable clothing and footwear are advised. Unfortunately, the event is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Guests staying in Hever Castle’s accommodation can enjoy a 10% discount on Haunted Hever Castle Tour tickets during their stay. Please note that the tours are not included in standard Castle & Gardens admission.
