Diggerland Kent Wins Bronze at the 2025-2026 Wilder Kent Awards!

Diggerland Kent is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a Bronze Award at the 2025-2026 Wilder Kent Awards, in recognition of its ongoing commitment to sustainability, wildlife conservation, and community engagement.

The Wilder Kent Awards, organised by Kent Wildlife Trust, celebrate schools, community groups, businesses, and organisations across Kent that take positive action to protect and restore nature. This year, over 90 organisations were shortlisted, with more than 25,000 people recorded as taking action for nature. The combined efforts of the award entrants benefited over 400,000 people and helped restore almost 70 hectares of land, equivalent to approximately 98 football pitches.

Diggerland Kent was recognised for its wide-ranging environmental initiatives, including dedicated nature patches and wildflower areas that provide food for bees, butterflies, and other pollinators. The park also features bug hotels and insect-friendly habitats that support biodiversity and encourage local wildlife.

As an eco-friendly theme park, Diggerland Kent continues to reduce its environmental impact through renewable energy and electric vehicles. Solar panels installed across the site provide electricity to power the park’s electric Mini Tractors, Go-Karts, and Mini Landrovers. Kent Wildlife Trust’s Education Manager, Tom White, said:
“Every year we are blown away by the entries we receive. These projects create habitats for wildlife, restore natural spaces, and tackle the climate and biodiversity crisis. The awards ceremony was the perfect celebration of the people making this happen.”

At Diggerland Kent, the team is proud to combine fun, adventure, and sustainability. Visitors can enjoy exciting rides and attractions while learning about wildlife and environmental conservation. The Bronze Award recognises the park’s commitment to creating engaging, educational experiences while safeguarding nature for future generations.

Mike Chapman, General Manager of Diggerland Kent, says:
“We are thrilled to receive a Bronze Award at the 2025-2026 Wilder Kent Awards. At Diggerland Kent, we’re passionate about creating a fun and exciting experience for our visitors, while also doing our part to protect and enhance the natural environment around us. From our wildflower areas and bug hotels to our renewable energy initiatives, every step we take is about supporting biodiversity and inspiring our guests to care for nature. This recognition from Kent Wildlife Trust is a fantastic endorsement of our ongoing commitment to sustainability, and we look forward to continuing to make Diggerland Kent a place where adventure and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.”

Diggerland Kent would like to thank Kent Wildlife Trust for the recognition and congratulates all other organisations awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Commendation this year. By prioritising sustainability and biodiversity, Diggerland Kent continues to demonstrate that theme parks can be both entertaining and environmentally responsible, helping to build a wilder, greener Kent for everyone.
